Since I can remember I've been volunteering in a variety of ways, and on a wide range of levels. From spending my Saturday afternoons in summer as a 7 year old helping out at the Village and Town fetes, to cocaching football and cricket to children and disability groups when I was 16 & 17.
To this day I still spare my time whenever I am needed. Below I have given a quick tour of my experiences with charity work and my time volunteering.
20 Mile Canoe - In aid of the Royal British Legion

During my time at Easton & Otley College, me and 5 friends decided to raise some money for the Royal British Legion, a charity that had helped several members of the group.
We wanted to do something unique, and came up with the idea to canoe 20 miles along the Norfolk Broads, a challenege estimated by professionals to take between 7-8 hours.
Aswell as the interview, talking to friends, family and anyone who would listen, I set about contacting buisnesses to sponsor us through the event, in return for sponsorship on our 'hoodies' we would be wearing throughout the day. Companies were offered a space on the 'hoodie', pitctures in 3 newspapers, and mentioned on MustardTV's 6pm news.
In order to fundraise I set up a JustGiving page, which I promoted over social media, but I was also lucky enough to be interviewed on the BBC Radio Norfolk 'Stephen Bumfry Drivetime Show', reaching an audience of thousdands across the county.

Whilst in Year 10 at Long Stratton High School, my form group had a talk from an external compamy about the importance of making yourself stand out on CV's.
That night I realised it wasn't too early to think about my career CV, and how I can add personal development to it right the way through until employment and beyond. The next day I contacted my local charity shop, and within a week I started working there, loving every day.
